Daffodil Cove Watch

Weather Watch Lots of sunny or partly sunny days.  For local weather information, click here The Cove in summer: The arbutus trees (madronas to folks south of the border) are getting their new leaves, pushing out the old ones to lie on the ground. The moss and grasses are bleached white gold from the sun. Bird Watch The summer visitors are very busy in the undergrowth. Small flocks of swans pass with their rush of wings. This part of the coast has an exceptionally large number of summer and winter birds because of the temperate climate and the large amounts of habitat remaining.

Our personal eagles can often be seen at their guard post at the entrance of the laneway.  Special Events ARTSPRING, the community theatre, has lots of music, art and drama events planned for this season. For a complete community events list, click here.  Flower Count Foxgloves are nearly done and are working on their new seeds. Gardens are ablaze with lilies and other perennials, everything at once. Roses are in full bloom.  The drought tolerant California poppies and daisies are everywhere.
