The Cove in spring:
The winter rains have turned the mossy slopes brilliant green. Sometimes the sky and ocean are deep blue - then the cove becomes unbelievably colourful The arbutus trees (madronas to folks south of the border) have dropped their old leaves as the new ones push them out. There are still lots of the crimson berries that the birds love.
Bird Watch
The winter birds are very busy on the slope. Often there is a cacophony of bird twitterings; the little ones are bustling about in the undergrowth. This part of the coast has an exceptionally large number of summer and winter birds
because of the temperate climate and the large amounts of habitat remaining. Our personal eagles can often be seen at their guard post at the entrance of the laneway. Special Events
ARTSPRING, the community theatre, has lots of music, art and drama events planned for this season. For a complete community events list, click here.Flower Count
